General Events

Duder Cup 

See yachts of all shapes, sizes and vintages take to the water this weekend in the Duder Cup. The centrepiece of the Devonport Yacht Club’s Duder Regatta will have boats in different classes compete in staggered starts from 10 to 10.20am on Saturday. Watch the start of the race at Duder’s Beach close to the club, which is celebrating 100 years of an important part of Devonport and Auckland yachting history. See the latest Flagstaff for more.

XRace Devonport 

The mystery adventure race is coming to Windsor Reserve this Sunday. Team up with a friend or family member to take on the course containing 10 challenges – a mix of physical, mental and knowledge based tasks. A barbecue and prize draws are also promised. Online registration has closed but entry is available on the day.

Torpedo Bay Navy Museum

Visit the Navy Museum at Torpedo Bay, with its extensive collection of photos, artefacts, medals and more, for a look into New Zealand’s maritime history. See the new Operation Science exhibition, featuring displays of Belmont Intermediate School students’ experiments.  

When: Saturday and Sunday, 10am-5pm.

Devonport Museum

Devonport Museum has many fascinating displays showing local natural, geological and human history. See its memorabilia of Devonport schools, transport, early settlers and families, along with Devonport Borough Council scrapbooks and a historic photograph collection. 

When: 2-4pm, Saturday and Sunday.
Where: 33 Vauxhall Rd.


Music & Entertainment

Mad Dogs and an Englishman 

Internationally-renowned dog behaviour expert and stand-up comedian, Tony Knight brings his comedy show, which performed at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival last year, to the Rose Centre this Sunday. Knight will imitate different dog breeds and their antics and share what they really think about their owners. Tickets available here.

The Patriot 

Gemma Celeste brings her powerful voice to the Patriot tonight with a setlist of well-known songs, old and new.

Tiny Triumphs 

Live music returns to Tiny Triumphs when local cover band Beautiful Machine plays this Saturday. 

When: Saturday 8pm.

The Kestrel 

Lauren Collins brings laid back acoustic versions of classics from Abba, Fleetwood Mac and other great artists this Sunday at Devonport Wharf. 

When: Sunday, 2-5pm.

The Depot Artspace

Biomorphic Beings by Kiara Schaumkell, Rose Lasham, Sasha Ellis, and Saskia van Dijk uses a combination of sculpture and painting to explore the concept of bodily regeneration.
