North Shore Rugby Club 

The premiers kick off their season against Kumeu at home, with their sights set on a third consecutive North Harbour title. See the season preview in the latest Flagstaff here

North Shore Cricket Club 

The premier side play the second day of their final two-day match of the season tomorrow. After bowling East Coast Bays for 121 in their first innings, Shore scored 110. Bays start the second day on 40 without loss.

North Shore United AFC

North Shore play the second match in their Northern Championship season against Cambridge FC at home this weekend, having drawn 3-3 with Ngaruawahia United at Allen Hill last Saturday.

General Events  

Volcanic Vinyl 

Add some records to your collection at the Volcanic Vinyl sale at Tiny Triumphs. A selection of new and second-hand vinyl from a range of genres including funk, soul, punk, blues, rock, electronica, metal, reggae and hip-hop.

Duncan Gray’s Farewell 

A farewell for long-time Devonport resident Duncan Gray, who died after a long battle with cancer, is being held at the Devonport Yacht Club this Sunday. Read his obituary in the 14 March Flagstaff here.

Mahjong at the Devonport Community House 

Head to the community house to play some casual games of mahjong. Email maddy@devonportcomhouse.co.nz to join the Whatsapp group chat to ensure you have a seat at the table. No tutor present. Koha on entry.

Torpedo Bay Navy Museum 

Visit the Torpedo Bay Navy Museum for a look into New Zealand’s naval history.

Devonport Museum

The museum has many fascinating displays showing local natural, geological and human history, along with memorabilia relating to schools, transport, early settlers and families, and a collection of historical photographs.

The Patriot 

Musician Diego plays the Victoria Rd pub tonight.

Out of Order at the Rose Centre

This fast-paced comedy revolves around a government minister whose plan to spend an evening at a hotel with an opposition secretary starts to go disastrously wrong. FIZZ improv comedy show

Dog Man (G) advance screenings 

A faithful police dog and his human police officer are injured together on the job, but with a life-saving surgery they are fused together and Dog Man is born – sworn to protect and serve — and fetch, sit and roll over. An animated film based on the children’s graphic novel series, featuring the voices of Pete Davidson, Isla Fisher and Ricky Gervais. Tickets and Times here

Self-Care for Aliens at the Depot Artspace

Natasha Munro Hurn and Ezra Munro’s exhibition uses fantastical self-portraits made from digital collages. Various experimental screen prints utilise makeup in an exhibition reflecting “the radical queer spirit finding a home in an organic vessel”.
