General Events  

Belmont Primary School Fair 

Enjoy the games, food and drink, inflatable obstacle course, bouncy castle and horse rides at the fair this Saturday. Battle of the Schools events will provide the usual annual highlight.

Volcanic Vinyl 

Add some records to your collection at the Volcanic Vinyl sale at Tiny Triumphs. A selection of new and second-hand vinyl from a range of genres including funk, soul, punk, blues, rock, electronica, metal, reggae and hip-hop.

Noughty Wasters

Bring the kids to Resource Recovery Devonport to play and create with items otherwise destined for landfill. A free family session, suitable for all ages, but children three years old and under will require close supervision. Bookings required here.

When: Sunday 9am-noon.

Mahjong at the Devonport Community House 

Head to the community house to play some casual games of mahjong. Email maddy@devonportcomhouse.co.nz to join the Whatsapp group chat to ensure you have a seat at the table. No tutor present. Koha on entry.

Scouts Mudslide Day 

A mudslide, sausage sizzle, games, such as tug of war, and more are all on at the 1st Devonport Scout Den this Sunday.

Torpedo Bay Navy Museum 

Visit the Torpedo Bay Navy Museum for a look into New Zealand’s naval history.  

When: Saturday and Sunday, 10am-5pm.

Devonport Museum

The museum has many fascinating displays showing local natural, geological and human history, along with memorabilia relating to schools, transport, early settlers and families, and a collection of historical photographs.

The Kestrel 

Acoustic musician Rachel Hamilton plays the Devonport Wharf gastropub tonight.

Friday Night Open Mic

Come to Harmony Hall tonight to hear talented local singers and maybe give it a go yourself. Bring a plate and BYO.

North Shore United (football) 

North Shore kick off the season at home against Ngaruawahia United this Saturday.

The men’s premiers take on East Coast Bays in the first day of a two day match tomorrow – Shore’s last at the top level before relegation.

The premiers and U21s take on Waikato champions Hamilton Marist in the last pre-season friendly of the year.

Your Name is Like Perfume at Satellite2 Gallery

The gallery’s newest exhibition opens with a scented street performance at 1pm on Saturday. A hands-on perfume-making workshop will be held on Sunday. Cost $50, all materials included. Register here

Neural Bloom at the Depot Artspace

Self-Care for Aliens at the Depot Artspace

Natasha Munro Hurn and Ezra Munro’s exhibition uses fantastical self-portraits made from digital collages. Various experimental screen prints utilise makeup in an exhibition reflecting “the radical queer spirit finding a home in an organic vessel”.
