Hāngī Hākari 2026
An evening of kai, waiata and hāpori at Devonport Community House. Live local music will play, while hāngī is served, followed by dessert. Bookings essential. Reserve your hāngī here.

Matariki 2026: Weaving Workshop
Weave with harakeke (flax) and create your own tipare (headband), whiri (plait) and whetū (stars) with guidance from Tony Pecotic. A relaxed, beginner-friendly wānanga grounded in tikanga (customs) and hands-on making. Suitable for ages 10 upwards. More information and bookings here.

Community Planting Day: Narrow Neck

North Shore Rugby Club
Two semi-final fixtures at Vauxhall on Saturday. North Shore’s under-21s host Silverdale, in what’s set to be a quality contest between two sides in outstanding form. Following that match, the under-85kg side meets Kumeu in their plate semi-final.
Congratulations to the premier reserves, who last weekend beat Massey to take out the Premier 2 Championship grand final, and finish their season undefeated.

North Shore United Football Club
North Shore seniors and under-23s are both playing away to Manurewa on Saturday in the Northern Region Football League competition.

Immanence at Satellite2
Final weekend! Local artist Tina Frantzen describes her exhibition as “conducting on canvas”. Immanence is a state of being entirely within or inherent to something. It’s an atmosphere or quality of beauty deeply woven into the fabric of a piece of work, felt rather than explicitly declared. When creating her abstract works, Frantzen starts with a meditation and paints by feeling, always to music. Read the story in the 3 July Flagstaff.

Puanga-Matariki Group Exhibition: Te Waka o Rangi
