Young Artists Jam Night at Depot Lounge
This jamming session for musos aged 18–29 is the first in a quarterly series of events showcasing emerging local talent and offering young artists a platform to connect with audiences and peers in a supportive, dynamic environment. Bring your instruments and your skills to share with other upcoming musicians and enjoy a night filled with music, fun and food.

On at The Vic This Weekend
Advance screening: Goat
An original action-comedy set in an all-animal world. The story follows Will, a small goat with big dreams, who defies expectations by joining an elite team in roarball, a high-intensity sport where the fastest, fiercest animals compete. Suitable for all ages. Tickets here.
The Vic: A Love Story
A short film that charts the fascinating history of the Victoria Theatre — the oldest purpose-built cinema in the Southern Hemisphere — from its beginnings in 1912 when it was a “picture palace” showing silent films, to the advent of the “talkie” movies and now the digital age. Select film screenings are part of the fundraising campaign to raise money for new seats for the cinema. Tickets here.

Gallery Exhibitions
Pre-loved art and sculpture exhibitions at Satellite2
Lonely Arts Re-Loved is a community-focused exhibition, with buyers enjoying a diversity of artworks, the chance of finding a treasure, and hearing stories about the provenance of pieces.
The Private Members Bathing Club is a collection of works by artist Paul Herbert, celebrating the male form. Focused on gay male bathing, the show is timed to align with this month’s Auckland Pride Festival.

Sitting with the Trees at Depot 3 Vic Road
Final weekend! Artist Jean Stewart’s paintings capture the wild pine trees and native bush that populates land near her home in the Waitakere Ranges. The works not only capture what is being seen, but also echo wider concerns. The 200 days of rain series were painted leading up to and over the period of the Auckland floods of 2023.

Whare Ngaro at Depot Artspace
Ashleigh Zimmerman’s photographic exhibition Whare Ngaro addresses the kaupapa of infertility through a wahine Māori lens, provoking dialogue about wāhine and their intimate relationship with whakapapa.

Line, Light and Belonging II at Depot Lounge
These works, created by young artists from migrant families, reflect their experiences of growing up between cultures, languages, and traditions.

Devonport Navy Museum
Visit the Torpedo Bay Navy Museum for a look into New Zealand’s naval history. The Tides of Change exhibition, part of the 2025 Auckland Festival of Photography, is displayed in the atrium. Instrumental to Defence, the history of the Royal New Zealand Navy Band, is on display in the Foyer Gallery.

Devonport Museum
The museum has many fascinating displays showing local natural, geological and human history, along with memorabilia relating to schools, transport, early settlers and families, and a collection of historical photographs. North Shore Cricket Club
North Shore premiers, currently top of the second-tier Tom Hellaby two-day competition table, take on Ellerslie in day one of their fifth round game on Saturday. On Sunday, Shore heads to Onewa Domain and a semi-final against old foes Takapuna in the Jeff Crowe one-day competition.
The Shore women’s T20 side are up against Parnell at Cornwall Park on Saturday.

Animal Farm at the Rose Centre
The stage adaptation of George Orwell’s satire Animal Farm is directed by drama student and Westlake alumni Arlo Feeney, and features other former ‘Westlakers’ in the producer and acting roles. The story is set on Manor Farm, where the animals overthrow their farmer, and a new order emerges.

Purple Poppy Day at the Navy Museum
Purple Poppy Day recognises animals who have served and are serving. Join with the museum team and Devonport RSA for a short commemoration, which includes a canine VIP guest and the Navy Pipes and Drums band.
