Matariki Takarunga Lantern Hīkoi
Assemble at Whare Toi, with lanterns, for a hīkoi (walk) up Takarunga. Local schools will perform kapa haka at the summit. Koha appreciated. More information and RSVP (recommended) here.

Matariki Tamariki at Devonport Community House
A family event celebrating Matariki with the children in our community. Lanterns, face-painting, sausage sizzle, stories, cookies and crafts. Koha appreciated.

The Devonport Star Trail
The Devonport Star Trail is live! Local schools have designed stars inspired by the nine Matariki stars which have been hidden in shop windows on Victoria Rd. Grab an entry form from the library, hunt down all nine stars, and go in the draw to win a $300 voucher from a Devonport business of your choice. For ages 16 and under. Devonport Navy Museum
Visit the Torpedo Bay Navy Museum for a look into New Zealand’s naval history. View albums from the museum’s extensive photographic collections from World War I onwards, as part of the What a Life exhibition on display in the Foyer Gallery.

Devonport Museum

Coro: A Coronation Street Parody
The UK’s favourite soap is getting a comedic reboot with a Kiwi twist. Direct from sold-out Edinburgh Fringe shows, with two actors playing nine characters across five chaotic episodes. My Garden My World: Exhibition Opening

Dim the Lights so I can see in the Dark: Depot 3 Vic Road
A solo exhibition by Hauraki-based artist Avi Clark. Through layered abstraction, these contemporary works explore what happens when we step back from the noise of the outside world, reflecting perception, stillness and the unseen.

Figurative Artists Collective Exhibition: Depot Artspace
The Depot’s biggest exhibition of the year, Between Us, brings together 28 artists working across figurative art and portraiture. Co-curated by local artist Karlalise Horstmans, it includes past finalists in the Adam Portraiture Award. Sculptures and a range of media on canvas and paper are featured. Trauma in the Bones: Depot Lounge
Devonport artist Manuahi presents an intimate collection of oil paintings and poetry, based on lived experience and giving form to stories often unseen or unspoken. Note: This exhibition includes references to mental health, suicide, and abuse as well as depictions of nudity.

Sport & Recreation
North Shore Rugby Club
In their last home games of the regular season, before finals get underway, the premiers and premier reserves are on home turf this weekend, both taking on Northcote at Vauxhall Rd. The under-21s and the under-85kg sides have away fixtures, facing off against Silverdale and East Coast Bays respectively.
Recapping last weekend’s Club Day results, it was five wins from five against Takapuna, with all four senior teams and the J1 juniors enjoying victory against the local foe.

North Shore United Football Club
In the Northern Region Football League, North Shore seniors and under-23s both have home matches against Taupo on Saturday. The table-topping First Team Women’s side continued their winning form last weekend. This Sunday, they have another away match, against Uni-Mount Bohemian ‘Corns’. Friday and Saturday Afternoon Social Pétanque
