Puanga-Matariki Twilight Market
Experience the spirit of Matariki at this popular annual family event. Stalls, food, music, entertainment, crafts, open workshops and much more.

Joy’s Keychain: reading and activities
Join author Keqing (Kate) Gan for a reading of Joy’s Keychain followed by a keychain-making activity. Copies of the book will be available for purchase. Suitable for ages 4 upwards, with guardian supervision.

Matariki 2026: Taonga Pūoro Workshop
Create a traditional Māori musical instrument made from clay. Connect with the sounds and stories of these taonga as you shape and bring them to life. This workshop, with Terence Hibbert, is suitable for ages 10 upwards. In conjunction with the Matariki Group Exhibition. More information and bookings here.

Pat & Chat… with Greyhounds
The greyhounds are back! Come and enjoy a cuddle, learn more about the breed, and discover why they make such amazing companions. Talk to volunteers from the charity Greyhounds as Pets, at this drop-in event about greyhound adoption and fostering.

Weekend Nature Nursery

North Shore Rugby Club
The premier reserves take on Massey in their season finale. North Shore romped home against East Coast Bays in last weekend’s semi-final.
The under-21 and under-85kg sides have a bye this weekend, before next week’s semi-final clashes at Vauxhall Rd.

North Shore seniors and under-23s are both playing at home to Hamilton on Saturday in the Northern Region Football League competition.

Immanence at Satellite2
Local artist Tina Frantzen describes her exhibition as “conducting on canvas”. Immanence is a state of being entirely within or inherent to something. It’s an atmosphere or quality of beauty deeply woven into the fabric of a piece of work, felt rather than explicitly declared. When creating her abstract works, Frantzen starts with a meditation and paints by feeling, always to music. Read the story in the 3 July Flagstaff.

Matariki Group Exhibition: Te Waka o Rangi
This exhibition explores the rich kōrero shared across the Pacific about our celestial whānau and the many ways different cultures understand these stars. By looking to Puanga, Matariki, and the wider cosmos, we are reminded of our deep relationship with the natural world.

Star Artworks: The Rose Centre Art Spot
