Exhibition Opening: Wrong Track
Artist Grant Alexander explores the issues of fast-tracking and artificial intelligence (AI) in his latest exhibition of 22 new works. He asks if fast-tracking has put Aotearoa on the ‘wrong track’ and questions the resources required to fuel AI. Read the story in the 14 August Flagstaff.

Exhibition Opening: Linger
Set within rich, dreamlike landscapes, artist Laurette Looker portrays women who are fully in the moment, unhurried and indifferent to a world that rarely stops. Layered instinctively in bold colour they cherish the quiet and invite you to linger.
When: Friday, 6–7.30pm (artist talk at 6.30pm). Otherwise, 10am–5pm daily.

Visual Chorus: Flagstaff Gallery
An exhibition of new works from 40 artists from across Aotearoa.

Puanga-Matariki Group Exhibition: Te Waka o Rangi
Final weekend! This exhibition explores the rich kōrero shared across the Pacific about our celestial whānau and the many ways different cultures understand these stars. By looking to Puanga, Matariki, and the wider cosmos, we are reminded of our deep relationship with the natural world.

The Infinity Series – Xeduce
Drawing inspiration from baroque and rococo art and architecture,
Renaissance-inspired opulence combines with futuristic design in this exhibition of wearable art.

The Rose Centre Art Spot
For the last month of Matariki, artworks by Breana-Ann Kaponga are on display. Each of the nine whetū (stars) of the Matariki cluster is depicted as a native manu (bird).

Bicycle Maintenance Workshop
A weekly community workshop, offering help with bike maintenance. Visit the Torpedo Bay Navy Museum for a look into New Zealand’s naval history. Its latest exhibition, What a Life, features photo albums of New Zealand sailors’ memories, over the period 1900–1972, through snapshots of time spent at sea and ashore, through war and peace, at home and abroad.

North Shore United Football Club
In the Northern Region Football League competition, North Shore seniors and under-23s have away fixtures against Takapuna.
In the community football leagues, local action in the men’s competition takes place on Saturday. North Shore women reserves and first team play on Sunday. The First Team Women, who top the Division 1 table, take on bottom-placed Hibiscus Coast.
