Step by step by step – Devonport walkers mark 35 years

Thirty-five years on, the Devonport Walkers group is still going strong.
Nearly all are Devonport residents and many now live in the William Sanders retirement village.
The group was founded by Pat McKay and her late husband Jim over 35 years ago and is now run by Clive and Kate Sinclair, with the assistance of other members.
“They [the McKays] have left a true legacy that keeps us going in all sorts of weather,” said Clive Sinclair.
Recently a group of 16 walkers (pictured) went to Panmure Basin to do a walk away from the familiar surroundings of Devonport.
“We do these walks quite frequently to provide our walkers with a different view and experience,” said Sinclair.
“We still walk three days a week and have 68 paid-up members.”
