Through a sketcher’s eyes… Artist Tony McNeight is among presenters at a second local PechaKucha event

A second Our Devonport PechaKucha evening will be held at the Victoria Theatre next week.
Following a successful event last year, a further line-up of presenters has been confirmed for the 2026 version on Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 May.
The lineup includes: David Kayrouz (How artwork The Arrival changed me as a person); John Davy (Harmony Hall); Judy McGregor (Why Devonport is a joyful place to live); Tony McNeight (Through a Sketcher’s Eyes); Geoff Chapple (The Trail Runs Through it); Janet Mazenier (One Eye to See, One Eye to Feel; Painting the Spirit of Place); Innes Asher (Why is there a child poverty crisis?); Rob Drent (Devonport news and newsmakers); and Richard Loseby (Hope it Goes Well).
A PechaKucha presentation is a concise storytelling format originating in Japan.
A speaker shows 20 images, each for 20 seconds, restricting their presentation to six minutes and 40 seconds.
The event is a fundraiser for local charities, presented by Devonport Library Associates.

  • Our Devonport, 27 and 28 May, 6.30 pm (Doors open at 6.15pm). Tickets, $15 from the Vic.
