Belmont top of class at cross-country champs

Belmont Intermediate cross-country runners cleaned up at the North Shore Cross Country Zone Day.

Runners from the school won the Year 7 Girls, Year 7 Boys and Year 8 Boys races held at Sanders Reservein Paremoremolastweek.

AshaEdwards and Harry Shannon won their Year 7 races and Dominic Cook was first in the Year 8 Boys race.

Belmont had 40 students competing, with 10 finishing in the top 10 in their races, meaning they will now progress on to the Auckland Cross Country Champs, which will be held on 1 September, in Muriwai. Nova Powles was 3rd and Jessica Donnelly 8th in the Year 7 Girls race. Piper Lodge was 6th and Isla Cutts 9th in the Year 8 Girls race.

In the Year 7 Boys, Alex Clayton was 4th, Harry Brown 5th and Axel Healy 10th.
